DescriptionA running metronome for iPhone and Apple Watch. A click on top of your music, or a tap on your wrist, at the cadence you want to hold.
Runpop

Runpop is a running metronome I built for my own runs. Holding a steady cadence (steps per minute) is one of the simplest ways to run more efficiently, but most metronome apps either stop your music or need the phone in your hand.

What it does

  • Click over your music. The phone mixes a short click on top of whatever is playing instead of pausing it.
  • Haptic beat on Apple Watch. Leave the phone behind and feel the cadence on your wrist.
  • Plans, not just one number. Hold a fixed cadence, warm up then build up, or step up every few minutes.
  • Live Activity and widgets. Elapsed time and the current segment on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, plus Home Screen, Lock Screen, and watch complications.
  • Records. Time run and target cadence for the past week.

Design

The look is dark with four accent colors, each tied to a state: pink for ready, teal for running, orange for paused. The cadence sits on a ring dial so it reads at a glance mid-run. Native SwiftUI on both iPhone and watchOS, with the watch run backed by a workout session so the beat keeps going with the screen off.
